2) What we use & what we collect
2.1 On your device & iCloud (not collected by Trekka)
These permissions are requested only so the app can function. The resulting data is stored on your device and, if you have iCloud enabled, in your private iCloud database. Trekka does not upload this data to its own servers.
- Location & motion data — GPS position, heading, motion state; used to track rides, runs, or walks, compute speed, distance, moving time, calories, and show maps.
- Activity metrics — distance, average/max speed, calories, temperature at your location (queried from a weather provider using coordinates).
- Health data (optional, iOS only) — via Apple HealthKit, if you grant access:
- Write: workouts, routes, active energy, distance.
- Read: weight, sex, age (to improve calorie estimates).
2.2 Data we collect (off-device)
- Analytics data — app usage, session length, crashes, performance, and feature usage (e.g., via Firebase) to improve quality and stability.
- Advertising data (free version only):
- Advertising ID (IDFA/AAID) — collected only if you allow it in system settings. If allowed, ads may be personalized; if denied, ads still appear but are less relevant (contextual).
- Ad performance — impressions and clicks are recorded to measure delivery and prevent fraud in both cases.

We do not sell personal data. Health data is never used for advertising.
4) Service providers / subprocessors
- Apple HealthKit (iOS) — health data read/write as permitted by you.
- Google Play Billing / Apple App Store — subscriptions and in-app purchases.
- Firebase (Google) — analytics and crash reporting.
- Ad networks (e.g., AdMob) — ad delivery and performance metrics (free tier only).
These providers process data under our instructions and appropriate safeguards. International transfers, where applicable, rely on recognized mechanisms (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses).
5) Retention
- Activities & metrics — remain on your device and/or iCloud until you delete them.
- Health data — resides in Apple Health / iCloud under your control.
- Analytics & ad data — retained by providers per their policies (typically up to 24 months).
- Subscriptions — records are held by Apple / Google, not Trekka.
6) Your choices
- Free tier: ads are shown. Advertising ID is collected only if you allow it; otherwise ads are contextual.
- Premium subscription: removes ads and stops any advertising data collection (analytics remains).
- Permissions: you can revoke location, motion, and Health permissions in device settings (some features will be limited).
7) Your rights
Trekka does not store your activity, location, motion, or Health data on Trekka servers. That information remains on your device and, if enabled, in your private iCloud. We only use third‑party services for app analytics and (for the free tier) advertising delivery as described above.
If you have any questions or want us to check whether any data is associated with your account or device, email trekka@e-life.lv. Where applicable law grants you rights (e.g., EU/EEA), we will facilitate those rights. In practice, most personal data used by Trekka is stored locally on your device or handled by platform providers (Apple/Google) and ad/analytics partners.
8) Children
Trekka does not collect or store personal data on Trekka servers. The app has an App Store age rating of 9+. Parents and guardians can manage device permissions (e.g., Location, Motion & Fitness, Health) in iOS/Android settings.
9) Security
Trekka does not maintain user databases; activity and Health data remain on your device/iCloud. Analytics and advertising (free tier) are provided by third‑party vendors that apply their own security safeguards.
10) Website (trekkaapp.com)
trekkaapp.com is a static marketing one-pager. We do not collect, track, or store personal data on the website. No cookies, no analytics, no advertising scripts.
11) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect product or legal changes. We will update the “Last updated” date and, where changes are material, provide additional notice in the app or on the website.
